Random Thoughts of Thanks

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

HSB Homemaking NomineeToday, I am grateful that I’m a nominee over at the Homeschool Blog Awards.  I’ve been nominated in the Best Homemaking Blog category.  It’s a blessing to know that my gluten free recipes and gluten free products posts have helped others.  I love being able to take care of my family by providing delicious gluten free cooking for them, and it’s fun when I’m able to help even more people in the process.

It was fun to know that some of my posts such as The Great Bedroom Throwdown and The Great Bathroom Throwdown inspired some people to have fun cleaning with their kids.  I’m not always the best housekeeper, but I love making my home a haven for my family.  I take pride in knowing that my husband looks forward to coming home each day.  He feels comfortable and relaxed at home.  I am grateful that we have a comfortable home to call our own.

I am thankful that my daughter is happily working on her Proverbs 31 study and she’s on her way to memorizing the whole chapter.  Each week, she is memorizing a new portion of the chapter.  She then comes to me and says not only the new portion of scripture that she learned, but also the previous verses from the chapter.  By the time she is finished, she will have memorized Proverbs 31.

I am thankful for those who take the time to comment on my blog and for those who just enjoy reading it.  If you would like to support us by voting for our blog, (Marine Corps Nomad in the Best Homemaking Blog category), I would appreciate it.  Over there, I’m a bit of a little fish in a big ocean, but I’m honored to be nominated just the same.  While I’m not a big time blogger, I’ve met some wonderful people over the years via blogging, and I’m very thankful for all of them.

This post is part of the Gratitude Challenge and  a Month of Thanksgiving.

  2. Heather, How exciting! I had no clue there was such a thing as blog awards! How fun.

Gluten-free is a tough life. I have a cousin-in-law with celiac, and a friend and one of her sons that have to be gluten-free. They’re so very healthy, but I can’t imagine the challenge of completely changing my cooking/eating habits. Bless you for ministering to your family!

I like the things you’re thankful for today. 🙂

    Blessings to you,
    Christine

  4. I know what you mean about making your home a haven. I feel the same way about my home. It may not be picture perfect all the time…but I think that is what makes it a home and not just a house.
