3 in 30: January Week 2 Check-In

Posted in Christian Life, Fitness, and Homemaking

It’s hard to believe that we’re already 2 weeks into January 2011.  Last year seemed to fly by, and this year seems to be doing the same already.  With Munchkin being sick, we haven’t been getting much schooling done, but it has allowed me to focus more on the goals that I’ve set for this month. I realized this week that I have 1 daily goal, 1 weekly goal, and 1 monthly goal.  I did not plan this out, but it seems to be working for me.  I try to work on the monthly goal (homemaking) a little each day,…

Fit Mommy Friday: Challenge Week 2

I would love to be able to report that I had a fabulous week, but I’d be fibbing.  I did do pretty well with meeting my healthy eating goals.  Other than eating a little candy, I was able to eat healthy meals.  D was kind enough to cook up a meal or two for us this week. Monday and Tuesday were good days.  I was able to get in some good exercise and plenty of water. Wednesday was the beginning of the not-so-good rest of the week.  I’ve been dealing with pretty bad headaches for the second half of the…

Fit Mommy Friday: Challenge Week 1

I had a pretty good week when it came to my challenge goals.  I was surprised by the fact that eating enough veggies was the one thing that I really had to try to get done this week.  I love veggies – all kinds, so it was puzzling that I struggled with getting enough veggies each day.  Then again, it could have something to do with the fact that we’ve been enjoying more fruit (kiwi, strawberries, seedless oranges) this week. Overall, I’ve cut down on sweets, but I did have cheesecake twice this week.  I made a healthier version of…

Fit Mommy Friday: Fitness Challenge

Denise from Got Chai says: There seems to be a common thread here among us Fit Mommies and it’s this: A serious lack of motivation! Factors such as: stress, an insane schedule, illness, injury, the new school year, or even the dreary fall weather can do a number on our workout routines, pushing them and our goals to the back burner. Trouble is, many times that’s exactly where they stay. Once the vicious cycle of “Exercise, eat right, get fit, feel great / Get bored, gain weight, feel bad” begins, it’s hard to stop. (Can I hear an “Amen”?) Well,…

Fit Mommy Friday: Back in the Groove

The week before we left for vacation, I was finally able to get to back to using my Body Gospel fitness program.  I had been off for about a month due to various health reasons.  I knew that I would be starting from the beginning since I had been off for so long.  D had purchased me some new tennis shoes, so I didn’t have to wear Munchkin’s anymore. On Monday, I got dressed in my exercise gear, made sure I had enough water, and popped in the dvd.  I admit that I was a bit hesitant because it had…
