The 1st Homeschool Day of 2012

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

I admit that both mommy and daughter have enjoyed our time off from school.  Munchkin has even taken a little time off from her volunteer work at the stables to regroup a little. Today, the break was over, and we started back up with school work.  I admit that it’s good to be back on schedule even though I can’t say that I’m looking forward to grading school work. **wink**  Surprisingly, the day went smoothly which is not always the case when we start back up after a long break.  Munchkin jumped back into everything without any issues.  Granted, we…

Hands-On Learning: TeacherGeek

Posted in Homeschooling, and Reviews

TeacherGeek sells products that teach students engineering, math, science, and technology in a fun, hands-on manner.  Students learn by doing interesting projects where they are involved in the process from beginning to end – no boring textbooks!  They are guided through the process of asking questions and then answering them through a series of tasks related to the current project.  By the end of the project, they will have a better understanding and working knowledge of the skills presented for the project on which they’ve been working. We received a “Catch the Bug” single kit ($22.98) to review.  At first, Munchkin wasn’t…

Creative Play

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Photography

For the most part, I love that my husband is a big kid at heart.  I admit that there are days that it drives me crazy, but overall, it’s a good thing.  That being said, it can lead to some pretty crazy play around our house. Today, Daddy and Munchkin build a catapult (from a kit that we’re reviewing).  Once it was assembled, the crazy play began.  Hmm… I wonder how far this will fly?  What do you think this will do?  Finally, I had to tell Munchkin that certain objects needed to be taken into an area where nothing…
