Today, we looked at a couple of “classic” trucks that were for sale in our area to help Munchkin get an idea of exactly what style of truck she wants as well as to help her solidify how much work (and what type of work) she wants to put into her truck. As we looked and talked, more clarity was found. We discussed how much various repairs and changes would cost which lead to discussions about coming up with ways to earn money. Since she is homeschooling, she does have a little more flexibility than some kids her age, but she also has her commitment to her volunteer work at the stables which she loves. She’s working out how to find balance between homeschooling, chores, volunteer work, and building up her truck fund.
We’ve been trying to brainstorm for different ideas. One idea came in the mail today. I’ll be writing more about it later (next Tuesday to be exact), but I wanted to post a little about it now.
As a homeschool project, Munchkin has decided to do a Wreaths of Maine fundraiser. She’ll be putting any earnings in her truck fund. They have wreaths, swags, and sprays made from fresh Balsam Fir as well as a 9-foot Presidential Pine rope which can be ordered online and delivered directly to your house or as a gift to friends and family. If anyone is interested in helping Munchkin with her fundraiser, you can just head over to the Wreaths of Maine website to place an order. Just enter seller number #5060, so she will get credit for the sale.
Other things that she’s going to be doing include washing and detailing vehicles. She was pet sitting, but that job fell through. She may look for other opportunities to pet sit as it was something that she enjoyed doing. If you have any other ideas, I’d love to hear them. Help us brainstorm!
I received information about the Wreaths of Maine fundraiser as a member of the TOS Crew. All opinions are my own.
