I admit that both mommy and daughter have enjoyed our time off from school. Munchkin has even taken a little time off from her volunteer work at the stables to regroup a little.
Today, the break was over, and we started back up with school work. I admit that it’s good to be back on schedule even though I can’t say that I’m looking forward to grading school work. **wink** Surprisingly, the day went smoothly which is not always the case when we start back up after a long break. Munchkin jumped back into everything without any issues. Granted, we didn’t do math today as we’re waiting until we get a new review program to start back up with that.
We ended up schooling downstairs (away from our normal schooling area) as it was easier to keep an eye on the puppies. I don’t care to keep them in their crates when we’re home. (Little pup sleeps in his crate because he isn’t even close to being house trained. Big pup is fine at night, so he’s not crated at night. He’s only crated when we leave the house.) They definitely helped keep us entertained. lol! Thankfully, they didn’t side track Munchkin too much during her studies.
Sadly, little pup – who is fast as lightening – somehow got a hold of my laptop power cord. Two bites later and the power cord was no more. Yep, he’s fast and efficient when he’s doing damage. Thankfully, my old laptop cord works with my new laptop.
After we finished up with formal schooling for the day, I quickly made up some gluten free rice krispie treats. While those set up, I started reading the new Paolini book, Inheritance, out loud to Munchkin. Since it’s a huge book, it may take us some time to get through it. Daddy read it before us, so we’d be able to read it while he wasn’t home. (We enjoyed the rice krispie treats later with Daddy while we watched the Alabama vs LSU football game.) The night concluded with Munchkin and Daddy playing a little bit of Lego Batman on the xbox 360. A good end to our first homeschool day of 2012.
good on u both
isnt it dangerous for puppy to be chewing through power cords?

It’s definitely not good which is why I thought that the cord was out of reach, and he was being supervised. I’m still not sure how he got snagged and bit the cord.
We’ve done our best to puppy-proof many things, but puppies have a way of getting into mischief. 😉

Glad to hear your first day back went well…but sorry to hear about the cord. 🙁 So thankful our dog didn’t chew anything when she was little.

Wow! Your dog didn’t chew anything? We’ve always had chewers, so we just try to make sure there is lots of good stuff to chew. It usually, but not always (as is obvious in this post), works. 😉
