Creation Museum

We took the opportunity to head over to the Creation Museum while we were on our trip. Munchkin has been wanting to go as she heard about it (prior to it even opening), so she was thrilled that we would finally be able to go. My Dad, Stepmom, and niece joined us on our journey. We arrived at the hotel on Friday evening, and the girls immediately begged to go swimming. Off to the pool we went for a little swimming before bed. First of all, I want to thank you for your prayers for our travel safety. We really appreciated it. We left earlier than planned due to a winter storm rolling in… As we drove, we saw many salt/plow trucks waiting for the big storm, but our weather was good (minus a little rain and a few snow flurries). We arrived before the big storm hit. We had the pleasure of celebrating my niece’s 2nd birthday while there. This was fun as we usually don’t get to go to birthday parties for our family members. We had a lovely time with family in December. We were blessed with good traveling weather (overall) both there and back. I’m now scrambling around trying to get caught up with bills and housework. Lots of unpacking and re-organizing to be done. We also need to put away all of the Christmas decorations, so we’ll be quite busy over the next week. D is doing well and keeping quite busy. We were able to talk to him several times during our trip. We were able to talk to him on Christmas Day which meant a lot to all of us.…
Thankful Thursday

This has been an interesting week filled with ups and downs, but seeing what others are going through puts things into perspective. I am very grateful that I have a wonderful home. We have seen several homeless people this week which really makes a person think. I am very grateful for my family. Although D is away, we still are able to communicate with him. Not everyone is that fortunate… I am very grateful for God’s peace. I don’t know how people get through difficult times without faith in God. He is my strength. I am very grateful for Christmas.…
