We had a lovely time with family in December. We were blessed with good traveling weather (overall) both there and back. I’m now scrambling around trying to get caught up with bills and housework. Lots of unpacking and re-organizing to be done. We also need to put away all of the Christmas decorations, so we’ll be quite busy over the next week.
D is doing well and keeping quite busy. We were able to talk to him several times during our trip. We were able to talk to him on Christmas Day which meant a lot to all of us. Since this is (amazingly) our first Christmas apart, we were very grateful for this special call.
While the trip overall was good, we did have losses on both sides of the family. They were sudden and unexpected. My brother-in-law and his wife suffered a very late term pregnancy loss. My uncle’s father-in-law passed away suddenly shortly before Christmas. Please keep these families in your prayers.
I’ll write more later about our trip including our adventure at the Creation Museum. We appreciate all of the well wishes and prayers. You’ll never know how much it means to us.
Pleased you had a lovely time

Heather I am so glad to hear that you were able to talk to your dh on Christmas Day and other times during your vacation. It is so special when you can share time on the phone even when he is away.
I am sorry to hear about the two losses in your family. Such a hard thing to deal with let alone around the holidays. Know that I will be praying for your Brother in law and his wife and for your uncle.
I look forward to reading about the rest of your trip too. I know you will be busy this week getting all the Christmas things put up and all that, know that I will be praying for you and your dd while you tackle all that is at hand. Take care of yourself and remember to rest.
Blessings to you and yours.
I’m sorry to hear about your losses.
We’re nearing the end of a similar nearly month-long trip to visit family, & while I’m looking forward to being home again and settling back in to our routine (boy do the little ones need it!) I’m not looking forward to sorting the mail & returning to a life of responsibility.
It was also our first Christmas w/Papa deployed.
Its good to come and find you in. I’m glad you had quality time with family and that you were able to touch base with your man.
