Learning can be Fun!

Posted in Family, Homemaking, and Homeschooling

Munchkin loves to play board games. Me? Not so much. I usually pass off the board game playing to Daddy when possible. The problem? Daddy has been pretty busy since we moved here, so Munchkin hasn’t been able to play very many board games lately. At the same time this was going on, Munchkin started to get a little tired of the regular routine for school. Doing just the basics wasn’t cutting it for her. She needed some variety, some fun. I decided to make some changes in how our day was going to look. I’ll write more later on…

A Marriage Without Regrets

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

On Sunday, our church started a new study during the Sunday School hour based upon the book A Marriage Without Regrets by Kay Arthur. Our assignment for this week was to read through chapter 1 and answer a few questions. Our instructors recommended doing the study questions together after we had each read the chapter. They felt this would help us learn more about our spouses. The one thing that we both came away with from the reading is that we are very grateful for our relationship and each other. It will be interesting to see how this class goes…

Parmesan Chicken Bites & Potatoes

Munchkin has started back up with her home economics which means yummy good eats for us. One new thing that has been added to her studies is meal planning and nutrition. Today, she planned out what we would have for supper, and then made a delicious meal for us to enjoy. I wish I would have taken some pictures of her prep work for the meal. She now has her own knife (the handle is pink). We enjoyed a hearty meal of Italian Parmesan chicken bites, Parmesan roasted potatoes, and corn. Daddy gave it 2 thumbs up and was very…

First Basketball Game

Posted in Family

Saturday was the first basketball game of the season. Munchkin is playing on one of the base basketball teams, and Daddy is her coach. She’s thrilled because there are 3 other girls on her team. Yes, it’s blurry, but I still love this picture. Munchkin’s trying to steal the ball which she did do successfully several times during the game. Hustling back to play defense. (They’re not allowed to do a full court press at this age in this league.) Trying to get a rebound. (They were pretty tired by this point as only 5 members of their team were…

Organic & Gluten Free Bargains

Posted in Family, and Thrifty Ideas

When we first arrived here, we decided to look around to see what was in the area. We checked out what stores were available and where they were located. On our way to check out something (I can’t remember what at this point in time), we saw this run down looking building that was labeled discount grocery store. We decided to check it out even though it didn’t look that great. My first impression was not good, but as we began to look around, we started finding lots of goodies. You had to really look through everything, but good deals…
