When we first arrived here, we decided to look around to see what was in the area. We checked out what stores were available and where they were located. On our way to check out something (I can’t remember what at this point in time), we saw this run down looking building that was labeled discount grocery store. We decided to check it out even though it didn’t look that great.
My first impression was not good, but as we began to look around, we started finding lots of goodies. You had to really look through everything, but good deals could be found. The first day that we went, I picked up lots of canned organic veggies, tomatoes, fruits, spaghetti sauce… Each time I went, I was able to pick up some really good deals (ie: cage free eggland’s best eggs for 35 cents a dozen!).
Today, Munchkin and I went hoping to be able to pick up some of the snacks that I had found last time I was there. Well, we didn’t find the snacks, but we did stock up on a lot of organic and gluten free items. While I do make most things from scratch, it’s always nice to have some prepackaged items on hand. I even found some gluten free doggy treats for our canine family member. (Yes, he’s gluten free as well.)
We were able to pick all of this up for under $40!
