While we were over in San Diego spending time with Grandma and Grandpa, we decided that we would visit the USS Midway. To make the trip even more fun, we hopped on the ferry in Coronado and road it over to San Diego. We explored the ship, learned a bit more about aircraft carriers, and enjoyed listening to the World War II veteran. World War II Veteran Allen Bodenlos

Last week, we had the opportunity to listen to Allen Bodenlos, a World War II Veteran who was at Pearl Harbor during the fatal bombing by the Japanese on December 7th, 1941. He watched as the USS Arizona and USS Oklahoma sank into the depths of Pearl Harbor. We stood there and listened intently as he told us about the sailors and Marines who were trapped inside the ships with no chance to escape. He also told us stories of bravery and sacrifice as service members put the lives of others before their own. Some would make it out alive…

In the first 2 episodes of the Awesome Science series, we explored the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. In the 3rd episode, Noah Justice takes us along to Arizona as he explores Meteor Crater and Petrified Forest. Chicken with Cranberry Blueberry Sauce

What do you do when you have some extra blueberry and cranberries that need to be used up? Well, I decided to create a raw sauce for our pan grilled skinless, boneless chicken breasts. After eating it, both D and I decided that it would also taste great on ice cream, so we used some of the leftover sauce on some homemade vanilla blender ice cream later that evening. Yum!
