A wise old owl sat on an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard;
Why aren’t we like that wise old bird?

This beautiful owl has taken up residence in the bushes in our front yard. He/she has been there since D came home from the hospital. It’s a blessing to have this lovely creature available to watch. It’s a constant reminder to me that the Lord provides for us in many different ways. When I see an owl, I think of wisdom and deep thinking and being slow to speak. With all of the craziness and lack of sleep, I need that reminder to be slow to speak and quick to listen. As simple as it may sound, I am very grateful that the Lord brought this owl into our lives when He did.
We do not know if it’s a boy or girl. We can’t see a nest or burrow, but it’s definitely sticking around for a reason.

That owl is beautiful, and I am glad that it provides a wonderful diversion for you!
Just a question… Have you seen both of its legs?

Yes, it’s just tucking up one leg in that picture. We’ve also had the opportunity to see it fly on several occasions.
Nice job focusing on his eyes!

oh, wow! God is amazing. Once when my family was going through a hard time when I was a child (we lost our home and were “camping” at the time) We were young and thought we were having fun. My mother knew better and started to cry one day. Right then, a dove appeared at our campsite and stayed until the day we left. It was her miracle:)
