Project 365 – #116
In a few hours, we’ll be heading to the hospital for D’s back surgery. Ironically, the main concern on my mind right now is making sure D’s hospital stay is gluten free. (Maybe that’s because it’s something that I can focus my energy on right now?) Getting glutened or contaminated at the hospital could slow down his recovery as he’ll already be weak from the surgery. We’re going to keep stressing the gluten free thing as we go along and pray that the Lord will keep him gluten free during his entire stay. I’ll be doing my part by packing up some food for him to have on hand when he’s able to start eating.
Last night, Munchkin cuddled up to Daddy and told him that she didn’t want him to go. (Poor Daddy wasn’t feeling so well when I snapped this picture of the two of them together.) Daddy is the strong one, so this will be odd for her to see her Daddy hurting and unable to do even simple tasks for himself. She’s already planning different things to do for him as well as things for them to do together as he recovers. We’re doing our best to focus on the positive right now.
I’ve made up a special bag filled with goodies for Munchkin, so she’ll have something to look forward to today. She’s even going to get to have a special breakfast of gluten free donuts. While I can’t take away all of the blah that she’s feeling when it comes to the surgery, I can help make the day feel a little better for her.
We’re never sure what the future holds, but we know that the Lord is in control….

Praying for D, the healthcare providers who’ll be taking care of him, for you & Munchkin…and the whole situation!!! How blessed He is to have such a loving and caring wife and daughter! Keep us posted and let us know how it all goes!
