Project 365 – #073
Our trailer backed up to the beach, so we could literally walk just a few feet and be on the beach. This was our view. The campground is also a marina, so we watched many sailboats come and go as we strolled the beach. While this beach was nice, we did head over to the other side of the island, so we could enjoy the rolling ocean waves. While that side is just across the road, you can’t really stroll on the beach at that point due to the Navy Seal training taking place. We went maybe a mile down the road to the public beach access – beautiful beaches, but not many shells.
Now, I have to admit that Munchkin and I did feel a little bad that D was sitting in a conference area for a large portion of the day listening to powerpoint presentations while we enjoyed the beauty of the area around us. Our mornings began with a leisurely breakfast and a walk. They were followed by some school work as we didn’t need to take any more time off. After lunch, we spent a good bit of our time at the beach walking and collecting shells.
D would make it home (to the trailer) some time before supper on most days. We would eat together and relax for the evening. Puzzles were worked on for most of our evenings there. Unfortunately, one of the puzzles never was finished, so that will be tackled our next time out.
Since this was our last trip out before D’s back surgery, we decided to make the most of the trip. Even though this wasn’t really a vacation for D, Munchkin and I were both able to have a good time. D did have some down time. He mainly enjoyed the cooler weather and the nice breezes from the water in the evenings.
