Project 365 – #117
The baby birds have hatched. One baby bird likes to show off her pretty face while the other bird constantly shows me her back end. The mama bird always tries to draw me away from the nest by flapping on the ground when I’m taking pictures. She’s such a good mama.
His Eye is on the Sparrow
by Civilla D. Martin
Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
How sweet. We had baby birds in the bush in our front yard but the nest was too far in the bush and too high for me to see the babies. I think they may be gone now though. I got some good pics of the mama and papa building the nest and then carrying food to the babies. We could hear them, but couldn’t see them.
