Great Free Homeschool Resources

Posted in Homeschooling

I’m always on the lookout for great homeschool resources. Here are a few resources that I have found recently. Shanna from Integritas Academy is offering a free file folder game to anyone who subscribes to her newsletter. Shanna’s file folder games are really nice, so you won’t want to miss out on this freebie. Lydia Netzer is offering a free 10 part writing series, “How to Teach Your Child to Write a Novel“. It looks like it could be a really fun project for kids. I love the motivational tools that she’s using. I need something like that for myself!…

Learning can be Fun!

Munchkin loves to play board games. Me? Not so much. I usually pass off the board game playing to Daddy when possible. The problem? Daddy has been pretty busy since we moved here, so Munchkin hasn’t been able to play very many board games lately. At the same time this was going on, Munchkin started to get a little tired of the regular routine for school. Doing just the basics wasn’t cutting it for her. She needed some variety, some fun. I decided to make some changes in how our day was going to look. I’ll write more later on…

A Marriage Without Regrets

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

On Sunday, our church started a new study during the Sunday School hour based upon the book A Marriage Without Regrets by Kay Arthur. Our assignment for this week was to read through chapter 1 and answer a few questions. Our instructors recommended doing the study questions together after we had each read the chapter. They felt this would help us learn more about our spouses. The one thing that we both came away with from the reading is that we are very grateful for our relationship and each other. It will be interesting to see how this class goes…

Grapevine Studies Review

“Stick Figuring Through the Bible” From the day that we started the Old Testament Overview Level 4, Munchkin was hooked. She loved drawing the stick figures on the timeline. We had only been doing the study for 2 days when she asked me if we’d also be doing the New Testament. I chuckled and said we needed to get through the Old Testament first. The Old Testament Overview starts with making a simple timeline for all of the major events in the Old Testament. Once Munchkin had drawn the timeline, we decided to laminate the timeline before putting it in…

Parmesan Chicken Bites & Potatoes

Posted in Family, Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Homeschooling

Munchkin has started back up with her home economics which means yummy good eats for us. One new thing that has been added to her studies is meal planning and nutrition. Today, she planned out what we would have for supper, and then made a delicious meal for us to enjoy. I wish I would have taken some pictures of her prep work for the meal. She now has her own knife (the handle is pink). We enjoyed a hearty meal of Italian Parmesan chicken bites, Parmesan roasted potatoes, and corn. Daddy gave it 2 thumbs up and was very…
