Glimpse at Our Classroom

Posted in Homeschooling

Here are a few pictures from our new school area. The white desk is a built in desk that was in the house. D made the cubbie unit for me. We start the day here. You can’t see it due to the black chair (my chair), but there is a computer monitor. That is where Munchkin does most of her computer work. She will also do some of her work on the laptop. These carts house our lapbooking supplies as well as other school supplies. Munchkin likes to sit in the window seat to do her work that doesn’t require…

Homeschool Open House 2009

Posted in Commercial Break

It’s that time of the year again where everyone is getting ready for the new school year. School supplies are on sale (I love stocking up for the year at these prices!!), and kids are actually excited about buying their new “goodies”. Only, we’ve already been doing school for a while here. Since we took time off before, during, and after the move, we decided that we needed to get back to our regular schooling routine. Any time we take time off, I gradually add everything back to the schedule. Munchkin does better if I allow her to get use…

What’s Up with the Reviews?

Posted in Announcements, Commercial Break, and Thoughts

I just realized that in the craziness of the move and getting settled in I never wrote about why you are now reading more product reviews on our blog… This year, we have received the wonderful opportunity to be part of The Old Schoolhouse’s Homeschool Crew. Munchkin and I are really excited about this year as we’ll get to learn about and try products from companies that we may not have known about otherwise. Our reviews will always be honest and fair. If the…

Web Design for Kids Review

Posted in Homeschooling, and Reviews

When I found out that we would have the opportunity to review Web Design for Kids (…And Curious Grown Ups!), I didn’t really know what to expect. Munchkin and I sat down with our laptops and popped the dvd into the dvd player. (For easiest use, you will want to have the computer where the tv is located.) We were greeted by our instructor, Brian Richardson, and given some basic instructions before we began. We were informed that all we would need was notepad (the program) and Internet Explorer. Normally, I use Firefox, but we used Internet Explorer since that…

Morning Prayer

Posted in Thoughts

Today, our pastor started a 2 part sermon on prayer. I always enjoy reading David’s prayers. Psalm 3 1 O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;2 many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. Selah3 But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.4 I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of…
