A Week at the Beach

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Project 365 – #073 Our trailer backed up to the beach, so we could literally walk just a few feet and be on the beach.  This was our view.  The campground is also a marina, so we watched many sailboats come and go as we strolled the beach.  While this beach was nice, we did head over to the other side of the island, so we could enjoy the rolling ocean waves.  While that side is just across the road, you can’t really stroll on the beach at that point due to the Navy Seal training taking place.  We went…

Mommy and Me Time

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #057 As Munchkin grows older, I’m seeing more and more how important it is for us to have “mommy and me” time. Typically, when I hear Mommy and Me, I think of something for younger kids, but the reality is that older kids need that special one-on-one time just as much as the younger kids.  In fact, I think to some degree they may actually need it more.  They need to know that although they are growing older they can be secure in the love of their parents. The importance of nurturing a healthy relationship and encouraging…

Charting a Course

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #048 D and I are both planners.  We like to have a course charted in most if not all areas of our lives, but there are times when something happens and we’re blown off our planned course.  We’re currently dealing with some of those crazy storms right now.  (Lest friends and family worry… Nothing terrible is going on, but the storms are there just the same.) If you’re in the military, you’re familiar with the term Semper Gumby.  You expect things to be unknown.  Plans can change in the blink of an eye.  It becomes so routine…

A Breath of Fresh Air

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #046 After many days inside, I finally ventured out – if only briefly.  I needed to get a few groceries, and D wasn’t going to be able to take us to get them.  His schedule just wasn’t going to allow it.  Munchkin and I headed out, and I prayed that I would be fine until we arrived back home.  The Lord provided. Our little outing went well even thought the lines at Walmart were horrid.  Munchkin graciously put the groceries away upon our return, so I could rest.  Such a sweetie. A little bit later, Munchkin got…

Exploring Bulldog Canyon Day 1

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Since my Dad and Stepmom are here visiting, we thought it would be fun to head out exploring with our RZR and D’s dirt bike. Our RZR only seats 2 people, so we found a place that rented RZRs. Grandpa and Munchkin were in one RZR (the rental) while I drove Grandma in my RZR. D took the lead which, as usual, lead to some crazy times on the trails, but we had a blast. Here are some of the sights from today’s trip to Bulldog Canyon. Project 365 – #026 This area is stunning. We’ll be heading out for…
