It’s Time to Clear the Clutter

Project 365 – #230 These last two weeks, Munchkin and I have really been focusing on getting control of some of the clutter that has taken over different areas of our home.  The first thing to get tackled was the master bedroom closet.  This clutter battle spurred D to go through his old clothes and what not.  We ended up with several boxes/bags to donate.  (We won’t even discuss how many bags of trash left the house….)  Munchkin was motivated by our cleaning, so she’s been clearing out her room.  This is definitely a case of needing to win several…

Sweet Reward: Chocolate Chunk Muffins

Project 365 – #018 Sometimes, when you’ve been cleaning, purging, and organizing for some time, you need a little extra motivation to keep moving.  Today, Munchkin decided that she wanted something with chocolate, so I whipped up a batch of gluten free chocolate chunk muffins. The delicious aroma filled the house as we continued to sort through bags and boxes.  When the timer went off, I headed to the kitchen and pulled the muffins out of the oven.  After a short period of cooling off, we bit into the warm muffins.  Mmmm…. Cleaning and Christmas Music

Today, Munchkin and I focused on some deep cleaning/organizing around the house.  You know those stash and dash cleanings you do before company comes over?  Well, maybe you don’t do that, but around here, we do.  (We’re getting better though. **grin**)  Somehow, half that stuff seems to stay in the closet/storage area, and it keeps building up.  That’s what we were tackling today. The Great Bedroom Throwdown

On Tuesday, I posted that Munchkin and I were having the Great Bathroom Throwdown as a fun way to get the house clean.  I am very pleased to say that things went really well, and we had fun with the whole process. The Great Bathroom Throwdown

Munchkin is going to be starting up with the Keepers of the Faith – Keepers at Home program.  I have an old book, so we decided to get started with the program while we wait for the new materials to arrive.  After looking over the lessons, we decided that one of the lessons that could be started right away was cleaning.  To make things a bit more fun, Munchkin and I are having the Great Bathroom Throwdown today.
