The Gift of Giving

Have you ever noticed that when you give of yourself or give a gift from the heart, you, the giver, benefit? Today, we finished wrapping up more shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Munchkin joyfully wrote letters to include in each of the shoe boxes hoping that just maybe she’ll get a response from one of the recipients. She would think about how the child would feel about each of the items placed in the boxes. Awana Cowgirl Night

Last Wednesday was Cowgirl/Cowboy Night at Awana. The kids had a blast. Everyone that dressed up got an extra chance to throw a whipped cream pie at the Awana Commander. The Young Scientist

Munchkin enjoys science. She enjoys experiments and observations. When it came time for dissections, she was very excited. The catch? She really wanted Daddy to be her assistant. I offered to do the dissections with her, but she wanted Daddy. We’ve skipped over some of the dissections in the chapters until Daddy had a chance to sit down with her. Monday night, Daddy got home early. Munchkin was thrilled because they would finally be able to at least do one dissection. Flea Market Goodies

Unlike most of the country, we are now enjoying flea markets and roadside fruit/veggie stands.  This weekend, we stopped by the flea market that just opened for the season.  We didn’t realize how big it was until we pulled in to park.  It was also quite crowded.  We started walking around just to check it out when I spied a bulk nut and dried fruit booth.  I happily looked around and was pleasantly surprised at the prices.  We grabbed a few goodies (flax seeds, banana chips, walnut pieces), paid for our purchase, and moved on.
