Unlike most of the country, we are now enjoying flea markets and roadside fruit/veggie stands. This weekend, we stopped by the flea market that just opened for the season. We didn’t realize how big it was until we pulled in to park. It was also quite crowded. We started walking around just to check it out when I spied a bulk nut and dried fruit booth. I happily looked around and was pleasantly surprised at the prices. We grabbed a few goodies (flax seeds, banana chips, walnut pieces), paid for our purchase, and moved on.
As we were getting ready to leave, we spotted a local raw honey booth! I couldn’t walk past there without checking it out. lol! The gentleman offered us a sample of their whipped honey. Oh man! It was delicious. Since it was close to closing time when we arrived, we decided to head back home and come over the next day to look around more.
The next day, we had so much fun looking around and finding more places to keep in mind for the future. On the way out, we stopped by the raw honey place (again) and picked up a jar of wildflower honey and some whipped honey. Of course, D pointed out that I now needed to bake up some bread or biscuits.
Today, I baked up a double batch of drop biscuits to have with dinner. You know that we’ll be putting some of our new honey on them. yum! For dessert, we’ll have some freshly baked brownies. The house smells so divine right now.
I am very grateful that we stumbled upon this flea market and our good food deals.
With 4 inches of snow outside, it is hard to imagine!! It sounds like a great place!
