The Young Scientist

Posted in Holidays, and Homeschooling

Munchkin enjoys science. She enjoys experiments and observations. When it came time for dissections, she was very excited. The catch? She really wanted Daddy to be her assistant. I offered to do the dissections with her, but she wanted Daddy. We’ve skipped over some of the dissections in the chapters until Daddy had a chance to sit down with her.

Monday night, Daddy got home early. Munchkin was thrilled because they would finally be able to at least do one dissection. After we ate dinner, Munchkin and Daddy got their dissection area all set up.

Unfortunately, our poor earthworm dried up due to the Arizona heat, so she had to skip that dissection all together. They moved on to the next dissection, the crayfish. Since I know some people are squeamish around these types of things, I decided to have some fun with the pictures to mask the actual dissection.

They were having so much fun that they decided to move on to the perch dissection. This truly was amusing as the fish made all kinds of funny noises during the “surgery”.

Here, Daddy is making the fish talk.
There was lots of teamwork and laughter during the whole process.

I am so grateful that Munchkin has a Daddy that enjoys being an active part of her life.

What a blessings it is to have husbands that aren't frightened to help with the hands-on aspect of homeschooling.

    Have a great week,
    Blessings,

    Hi there…

Discovered your blog through "Heart of the Matter". I've enjoyed looking through it a bit. We are a traveling homeschooling family as well. My husband isn't in the military but we still have quite a few similarities in our lifestyle!

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    (: Shelby
