Holiday Goodies & Mishaps

Posted in Family, and Holidays

Munchkin loves to help me in the kitchen, so this year she decided that she was going to help me make peanut butter balls. We decided to do it in stages as I’m not feeling quite up to par. We decided to make the peanut butter balls one night and dip them in chocolate another night. Munchkin was a great help and we were able to get the peanut butter balls done in no time flat. Next, we moved on to flourless peanut butter cookies. We changed them up a little this time and rolled them in sugar. Yum! Unfortunately,…

Christmas Overseas

Several of the wives of the Marines with my hubby decided that they would make stockings for all of the guys in the unit for Christmas. They requested that each family send enough stocking stuffers for each of the guys to their Marine (or Sailor, as there is one). I personally thought this was a very cool idea. When D heard about this (as I tell him when to expect a package, so he can be on the look out for it), he asked if we could send some stockings for their interpreters. I said yes as these guys make…

Each evening we read a Christmas book. We listen to fun old radio shows, like Cinnamon Bear. We love to drive around and look at the light displays. On December…

Our Tree and My Little Santa

Posted in Family, Holidays, and Thoughts

I had purchased some red fleece a while back for something (I don’t remember what), so I decided to make Munchkin some new pjs. Once I had the pjs made, Munchkin said that they looked like a Santa outfit except they didn’t have white. I pulled out some white scraps that we had and put on the cuffs. Munchkin loved her new cozy pjs and felt all set for Christmas. On Thanksgiving Day, I put up the Christmas tree (pre-lit), but I didn’t get the decorations down. By that point, I wasn’t feeling very well, so we cuddled a bit…
