Holiday Goodies & Mishaps

Munchkin loves to help me in the kitchen, so this year she decided that she was going to help me make peanut butter balls. We decided to do it in stages as I’m not feeling quite up to par. We decided to make the peanut butter balls one night and dip them in chocolate another night.

Munchkin was a great help and we were able to get the peanut butter balls done in no time flat. Next, we moved on to flourless peanut butter cookies. We changed them up a little this time and rolled them in sugar. Yum!

Unfortunately, we had a little incident. We headed out to the library for the Holiday Stories program. We had a wonderful time (more about that at a later time). When we arrived home, our furry little friend was acting a little strange, but I didn’t think much about it.

We completed our night time routine, and I tucked her into bed. I looked at the table on the way back to my room and realized that a whole cookie sheet full of peanut butter balls were missing. A few minutes later, the dog proceded to get sick all over the house for the next few hours. Ugh!! Note to self: no more leaving goodies on the kitchen table….

We get to make more peanut butter balls which, in all honesty, was a lot of fun with Munchkin. So, more Christmas music and baking are on our agenda for this week. We plan on making Gluten Free Oatmeal Cookies, Sugar Cookies, and Chocolate Chip Cookies. We’ll see if we have time to get it all done.

Bless your heart. I do hope you are feeling better today and that your furry friend is as well. Hope you will enjoy another day of cooking cookies. By the way… they look GREAT.
Have a blessed week and know that you are in my prayers.

It is so nice to have a helper this time of year. I would have loved borrow one if only I could find one. I asked the housecleaner’s daughter who comes to help but she doesn’t like to wrap presents so I had to do them all myself. I don’t mind wrapping a few at a time but the task is overwhelming in the beginning.
You are building traditions with your daughter. I love reading about them. The cookies look wonderful. Sorry the dog got sick. They never know when enough is enough, do they?

Oh, the cookies look yummy! I am so sorry that your dog thought that it was a good idea to eat all the cookies.
