Our Tree and My Little Santa

Posted in Family, Holidays, and Thoughts

I had purchased some red fleece a while back for something (I don’t remember what), so I decided to make Munchkin some new pjs. Once I had the pjs made, Munchkin said that they looked like a Santa outfit except they didn’t have white. I pulled out some white scraps that we had and put on the cuffs. Munchkin loved her new cozy pjs and felt all set for Christmas.

On Thanksgiving Day, I put up the Christmas tree (pre-lit), but I didn’t get the decorations down. By that point, I wasn’t feeling very well, so we cuddled a bit and relaxed.

On Saturday, Munchkin had her heart set on decorating the tree and begged me to get the decorations down, so she could decorate the tree. After getting the decorations from the attic, I went to rest for a bit. A while later, she came running into the room and wanted to show me something. That’s right! She decorated the tree all by herself. We still need to find the tree topper to complete the tree, but I think she did a great job.

Today, after church, Munchkin started working on making some Christmas decorations. She’s having fun surprising me with her creations. In the mean time, I’ve been able to get some much needed rest.

How nice to have someone who is interested in decorating. My daughter put up the liked to decorate the tree and always was willing to take it down and put it away. Now of course she has her own to do. Maybe when I move back near her, she’ll help me again.
I am trying to plan an open house during the holidays. If I don’t invite people over,it seems hardly worth the trouble. We spend Christmas eve and Christmas day out of town.

I’m glad to see that you had a Thanksgiving feast! Wish we lived close enough together that you could have come here. It was just our little “pod”, and we have a ton of turkey left over as well!

Sorry you aren’t feeling well! I must say, the fact that when you feel badly and need rest-that your child either cuddles with you or runs off and busies herself is something I covet! I suppose, of course, that this season in my life can’t POSSIBLY be conducive to those things-with a four year old and one year old. But someday, I look forward to getting rest when I need it! Thank the Lord I don’t get sick all too often. I just wouldn’t be able to handle it. I do hope you get to feeling better soon!

Your munchkin is such a sweetheart-and she did a GREAT job decorating the tree! I am very impressed! It looks lovely!

And you did a fabulous job on those jammies! I am sure they are SO cozy and comfortable being FLEECE! Perfect! Now-you need to make some for YOU too! 🙂
