Latin and Snacking

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Project 365 – #292 What?  Those two things don’t go hand-in-hand in your mind?  Around here, watching Latin lessons seems to go hand-in-hand with snacking, and this picture really does capture the moment even if it is a bit fuzzy.  Munchkin was happy to be able to have chips and dip while sitting in bed watching her Latin lesson.  Hey, what can I say?  I’m a bit of a softy as she was tired from working hard at the stables this morning, so I allowed her to relax in bed while she did her school work and enjoyed a snack.…

Finding Time

Time seems to be flying by as we approach D’s second surgery. Today, we headed over to the hospital to get all of the pre-op paperwork, labs, and x-rays done.  Most of D’s information was already in the system from the last surgery, so that part went a bit faster.  Thankfully, I brought my Kindle as everything else took some time.  Friday, D will need to get more blood drawn, and then Monday morning, we’ll be heading back over for the surgery.  We’ve been told that the surgery will take basically the same amount of time as the last one…

The Sheep of His Pasture

Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. ~Psalm 100:3~ On Friday, as I was driving down to the road on my way to pick up Munchkin from the stables, I came upon a flock of sheep being moved from one location to the next. The “shepherds” and their dogs were guiding the sheep along and keeping them out of harms way. It reminded me of how the Lord is constantly looking out over us and guiding us in the right…

Pieces of the Puzzle

Little did we know what a difference that short trip to the stables would make in our lives. Wednesday saw Munchkin begin her volunteer work at the stable with the plan that she’d only work a couple of hours two times a week until she got settled in.  That didn’t last very long as each day has seen a slightly longer day, and tomorrow (her third day this week) will be the longest day yet.  lol!  We now find ourselves trying to find a new balance with school, chores, and her volunteer work.  Shortly, we’ll also be adding in taking…

And the Volunteer Work Begins…

Today was Munchkin’s first day at the therapeutic horse stables. Daddy woke her up when he got up this morning and dropped her off before he headed to work. She was rather tired as she’s a night owl like her mama, so she’s working on getting her body to adjust to this new schedule. She’s going to start off with a couple of hours (or so) a day two days a week until she sees how she does at the job, chores, and balancing school work. It was a training day, so she started to learn the basics of working…
