End of Year Testing 2010

Posted in Homeschooling

Today is Munchkin’s end of year testing.  While we are not required by Arizona state law to perform the testing, we have chosen to do it anyway.  I am able to administer the test at home, so we don’t have to go anywhere for the actual test.  Munchkin seriously dislikes taking standardized tests, but I feel it’s important for her to get use to the concept. Right now, we’re taking a lunch break, so Munchkin is outside eating lunch with her friend.  (It’s so nice to have fellow homeschoolers who live next door.)  It’s an absolutely beautiful day, so I…

The Twittering of Birds

Posted in Photography

Virtually every morning, I wake up to the twittering of birds right outside of my window.  The funny this is that the large birds seem to make less noise than the small birds.  Our little hummingbird appears to make the loudest noise out of all of our feathered friends.  (Side note: I have yet to capture our little hummingbird in a picture.  He/she is just way too fast.  One day, I may be able to get a nice picture….) Today, Munchkin told me that she was afraid that the momma bird sitting on the nest in our tree was dead…

I liked that Walmart had partnered with Proctor & Gamble to produce a family friendly movie.  The great news is that this isn’t a one time partnership.  They are going to be producing a series of family friendly movies. The…

Tropical Traditions Coconut Peanut Butter Giveaway

Posted in Gluten Free, and Reviews

Coconut + Peanut Butter = Yuuummm!  Okay, so maybe that’s just how I feel about this coconut peanut butter.  When my jar of Tropical Traditions Coconut Peanut Butter arrived, it was runny.  (This was expected due to our high temps.)  You see, just like the coconut oil, the coconut peanut butter has a low melting point.  What this means is you can create some healthy delicious treats.  **grin** My first test was to drizzle some of the liquid coconut peanut butter over some vanilla ice cream.  Once it hit the ice cream, the coconut peanut butter set to create a…
