Overlooking Grand CanyonProject 365 – #221

Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes at the Marine Corps Nomads household.  We’re busy getting things together for the “new” school year.  (We school year around, but some things aren’t as much of a focus during the off months.)  We had loads of fun on our vacation in July and then our trip this past weekend.  Of course, that means that some of the housework was set aside for a time.  Now, I’m buckling down and getting the house back in order and then some.

I’m starting to move into my “gotta simplify the house” phase that I usually do at this point of the year.  I like to get everything back in order during the summer months.  It’s fueled even more by the fact that I know we’re going to be moving next year.  (I like to give myself plenty of time to purge stuff before a move.  We’re scheduled to move next summer.  Not sure where we’re heading to as of yet.)  I have decided to really jump in and tackle the paper clutter that seems to find its way into our house.  Sometimes, all of this can feel like a large, expansive task, but breaking it down makes it seem more manageable.

I’m on the TOS Crew again this year, and our review year has started up.  Our first review item came in last week, so that adventure has begun again.  It’s been such a blessing to us each year, and I’m sure this year will be no different.  It’s also been nice because I’ve been able to help a few others based upon my experience with different curriculums.  It’s also introduced us to some wonderful curriculum such as IEW.  In fact, I ordered new IEW curriculum while at the homeschool convention for this year.  It arrived this week.  Munchkin is pretty excited.  I love that she’s excited about a writing curriculum.  **grin**
