Project 365 – #220
Before my sister and her family headed over to Arizona to visit, the story of the Scorpion Queen was told to my nieces. The very bare bones version of the story follows – a story of a young girl who found a scorpion ring. The little girl found out from a local Native American that the ring was a one-of-a-kind ring that had special powers. The key was that it could never hit the ground or the powers would be gone. The ring would protect the little girl from all of the scorpions.
Little did my sister know what a chain reaction her story would start. The younger of my nieces decided that she really wanted to find this scorpion ring.  While we were visiting the Grand Canyon, my niece sat down and found the scorpion ring in the old tree on which she was sitting. She was super excited – especially when it fit her almost perfectly. She later discovered that her scorpion ring glowed in the dark.
She proudly wore her Scorpion Queen ring for the rest of the trip. She even found a perfect container to keep it safe while she wasn’t wearing it. It was all very cute. Later, it was decided that Munchkin would be the Horse Queen and my other niece would be the Bunny Queen. Munchkin found the perfect horse ring at a Native American store later on in the trip. She was tickled that I was willing to get it for her. She happily wore her new ring out of the store. She definitely loves horses. **grin**
wonderful 🙂
I love it when learning is extended
your niece learnt about the story it was extended when she found her ring andthen extended again when she made her cousins other types of Queens and extended again when Munchkin got a ring
