A Servant’s Heart

Project 365 – #041

This week has not been an easy week for us here at the Marine Corps Nomads household.  I’ve been down sick since Sunday.  D’s back issues have been flaring up again making moving around much too difficult.  (He’s still going to work, but, much to his dismay, he’s unable to exercise or do much work around the house. He’s been to the doctor this week for another “initial” appointment as they forgot to put through his original referral.  He has a second appointment tomorrow.  If you could pray that they’ll make some progress towards a diagnosis and possible treatment, I would be grateful.)

Thankfully, we have a very sweet, loving daughter who has a servant’s heart.  Each morning, she’s brought me up a nice breakfast of peanut butter toast and granola.  She’s been making sure that I’m getting plenty of liquids to drink and allowing me to rest.  She’s been bringing me lunch and helping Daddy with dinner.  School?  Well, that’s been done from the comfort of my bed.  We’ve even had fun playing some games and watching Food Network shows as well as shows like Promised Land.

Munchkin has also been doing her best to help Daddy as needed.  She has been doing some laundry and keeping up with the dish washing.  Is the house in perfect shape? Nope, but my “little” girl has been doing a fine job running the house while mommy is sick.  I’m so proud of her and grateful for all that she’s doing.  I feel extremely blessed that my sweet girl has a servant’s heart.
