Munchkin had the opportunity to attend horse camp this week, so we took advantage it. Day one began with a walk down the street to meet up with Mr. Jack for lessons in roping.
He patiently talked to the entire group and explained the technique.
Each child then took a turn. I was so impressed with how he worked with each child in a way that allowed every single child to successfully rope the practice steer.
After the roping lessons, the kids each were assigned a horse to ride, and the craziness of getting everyone saddled up began. Munchkin’s horse Dixie is recovering from an injury, so she rode M&M. She’s been bucked off M&M before, so she was a little hesitant to ride.
She ended up doing pretty well until M&M started to spook at all the horses as M&M isn’t really a herd horse yet. Munchkin ended up working with her a little before putting her away for the day. I was really proud of how she handled herself.
