Baby Shower Onesie and Washcloth Cupcakes

Baby Shower Cupcakes using Onesies, Sleepers, and Washclothes topped with hair ribbons and wrist rattles.

It’s always a bummer when you can’t make it to special events for family members. D’s brother and his wife are expecting their first child, and they had their baby shower this past weekend. Seeing how they are on the other side of the country, we weren’t able to be there. I still wanted to make something special for them, so I put together these cupcakes (see my fuzzy sock cupcakes post for more details on these as well as a template for the cupcake wrappers) using a variety of baby items like onesies, sleepers, and washcloths. I topped them with hair ribbons and cute wrist rattles. When I saw the bibs that fit the theme, I knew that I had to make utensil holders out of them to go along with the theme. The cake board is simply cardboard covered with scrapbook paper. Originally, I also made a cake with some other “must have” baby items, but I couldn’t fit that in the package which meant it was disassembled for easier shipping. The cupcakes and utensil holder were wrapped in plastic wrap, so they would hold up better during shipping. It was fun putting together baby girl stuff again. 😉
