Baby Shower Onesie and Washcloth Cupcakes

Posted in Homemaking

It’s always a bummer when you can’t make it to special events for family members. D’s brother and his wife are expecting their first child, and they had their baby shower this past weekend. Seeing how they are on the other side of the country, we weren’t able to be there. I still wanted to make something special for them, so I put together these cupcakes (see my fuzzy sock cupcakes post for more details on these as well as a template for the cupcake wrappers) using a variety of baby items like onesies, sleepers, and washcloths. I topped them with…

Handmade Gifts: Wise Men Plaque

Posted in Holidays, and Homemaking

Munchkin and I were trying to come up with a unique gift for someone when we saw the phrase “Wise Men Still Seek Him”. Paint the plaque black (or your desired color).  We only did one coat for ours.…

First, I cut out some cupcake wraps using decorative scissors for the top of the wrapper.  I just used some scrap paper and cardboard from some packaging that was being tossed out.  It had a cute…

Love, Grace, Child… Baptism Necklace

Posted in Christian Life, and Homemaking

When Munchkin decided to get baptized, I knew that I wanted to give her something special for that important moment in her life.  Since Daddy had already given her a nice study Bible a couple of years ago, that was not an option.  She had looked at some cross necklaces that she really liked, but they were gone by the time that I was able to go try to purchase one.  I then decided that I would make her a necklace, so it would be even more special to her.  This is what I came up with for her minus…
