This picture was taken at the end of a nice horseback ride a couple of weeks ago. Our ride was covered in a great deal of prayer as Daddy didn’t want to disappoint a very excited young lady who loves horses. His back pain had kept him from doing much walking just the previous few days, so he was concerned. The Lord answered prayers by allowing him to join us on this ride.
Sadly, D’s first back surgery back in April did not take care of all of his issues. After going through military procedures and getting a second opinion, we met with the back surgeon today and set up his 2nd back surgery. It’s going to be the same week as my birthday – yuck! Once again, the prognosis is good for a full recovery, so we’re cautiously optimistic about the future after he recovers from his surgery. Due to the nature of this surgery, he’ll probably have more pain, and the recovery period will be a little longer than the last surgery.
The next few months promise to be a bit crazy for us, but it will be worth it if his pain is eased. I look forward to once again being able to do simple things like going hiking. We’ve definitely missed our regular adventures.
my prayers are with you all
especially for D

Ill be praying, I have back issues myself and I can imagine how he must feel about all of this. I hope this time he is able to recover fully!
Oh I’m so sorry he has to do this again. My husband had back surgery 12 years ago, but thankfully that one surgery did the trick {and changing jobs}.
