As the day winds down, I am grateful that we had a very productive day. I was actually able to eat a little today, so that is definitely something to be thankful for. I was able to get most of the meal ready for tomorrow. The turkeys are in the brine, so they’ll be ready for the oven in the morning. I’m also thankful that Munchkin offered to help again by making delicious gluten free sweet potato muffins.
The only thing I didn’t get done on my to do list was making whoopie pies. A little road trip to the store to pick up new buckets created a little break in the planned schedule. (D accidently used my good bucket for stuff with his truck. Ooops! I headed over to Walmart bakery to see if they had any empty frosting buckets. I was able to get what I needed plus a couple extra little buckets thanks to a very kind employee. I only had to pay $1 a bucket which included the lid.) That’s okay though as we’ll have plenty to eat even if I don’t get them made.
The whole house smells wonderful. I’m going to work on getting a couple more Thanksgiving recipes posted before I call it a night. We’re getting ready to settle down for the evening and enjoy watching a movie together. A nice ending to a productive day.
