Missing the Desert

It’s so much fun when we’re able to get away for a long weekend.  I love the family time, the relaxing, and the quiet.  While it was hot this time around, the mornings and evenings were quite pleasant.  It would have been nice if there would have been a little more breeze to cool us off in the evening, but it was still okay once we settled in for the night. The sky was pitch black at night until the moon came out.  The stars sparkled brilliantly above us.  The difference in visibility after the moon was high in the…

Truck Update

Posted in Thoughts, and Thrifty Ideas

On Tuesday evening, D got back the instrument panel for the Suburban.  After Munchkin’s baseball practice, he reinstalled it in the Suburban.  It was working nicely.  Then, something crazy happened when he put the dash panel back in place.  The truck died!!  It wouldn’t start. He tried charging the battery, and it still wouldn’t start.  It was really, really odd.  We finally popped the dash panel off, and the truck started!  It was really strange. Thursday This and That

I woke up this morning with a slight headache, so I allowed Munchkin to watch a couple of shows on Animal Planet while I rested.  Munchkin then worked on her school work while I rested and listened to the Homeschool Expo sessions.  I had put on rice too cook in the rice cooker, so Munchkin had that for lunch. My headache, unfortunately, got worse during the day, so D ran home with some stronger headache medication for me.  I took that and rested some more.  Munchkin had fun telling me stories and watching some animal documentaries. I stuck a frozen…

Time to get caught up…

This week will be a week of catch up on my blog.  I have several reviews that need to be posted.  I need to post more Grand Canyon pictures.  Munchkin’s birthday pictures will go up.  I have a winner to announce.  I need to try to make it around to several blogs this week as I’m very far behind on my reading.  I need to respond to comments…  You get the idea.  We’ve had so much fun the last two weeks with the Grand Canyon and then all of the party preparations, but it kept us very busy (fun busy). …
