Truck Update

Posted in Thoughts, and Thrifty Ideas

ChevyOn Tuesday evening, D got back the instrument panel for the Suburban.  After Munchkin’s baseball practice, he reinstalled it in the Suburban.  It was working nicely.  Then, something crazy happened when he put the dash panel back in place.  The truck died!!  It wouldn’t start.

He tried charging the battery, and it still wouldn’t start.  It was really, really odd.  We finally popped the dash panel off, and the truck started!  It was really strange.

After we had the truck running for a bit of time, we popped the dash panel back on, and we didn’t have any more problems.

What happened?  I have no idea.  D has no idea.  All I know is that the instrument panel is now working.  I am grateful that we were able to have the instrument panel repaired for $40 instead of $500-$600.  The gentleman that did the soldering for D decided he wanted to barter services for payment.  D will be offering his vehicle repair help the next time he needs it.
