Family Hiking at Picacho

Posted in Family, Holidays, and Outdoor Adventures

It wasn’t that long ago that taking longer hikes with Munchkin and D was a huge task for me.  My inhaler was in constant use, and I was in a great deal of pain.  It wasn’t a matter of being out of shape.  It was various health issues that caused me to struggle.  It was frustrating for everyone involved. I am so grateful that I am now able to hike along with my family.  Oh, I’m still lagging behind them a bit, but that is partially because of my short legs and partially due to not being as in shape…

Sand Hollow State Park

It was a scorching hot day, so we made sure that we had enough water.  While we didn’t plan on doing any/much hiking, we always go prepared in case something comes up.  You don’t want to be stuck out in the…

Thankful Thursday: A Safe Journey

Posted in Family, and Outdoor Adventures

On Friday morning, we set out on our adventure.  The temps were already climbing, but we knew that the location where we were heading was going to be cooler.  I set Munchkin up with a fun travel kit (more to come about that at a later date), and I packed a snack container filled with delicious snacks to eat.  All went well on our journey to the campground.  We picked out a nice wooded location and set up camp. The campground that D chose had trails all through the campgrounds.  We were up on a mountain in the forest.  The…
