Sand Hollow State Park is a campground that calls to boaters, fisherman, and off-roaders alike. You see, this state park has different campground options to accommodate many different types of campers. Why did D decide that he wanted to come to this particular campground? Well, he thought Munchkin would like the lake, but he also liked that we could hit lots of trails/open riding spaces with the dirt bike and RZR directly from our campsite.
The park was also a great location to be able to head over to Zion National Park and one other interesting stop. We had gotten used to the cooler temperatures of Bryce Canyon, so we had to adjust to the warmer temperatures of this desert area. Yep, it was starting to feel more like home. Thankfully, it wasn’t quite as warm as home.
Here are some fun pictures from our off-road adventures. They were taken from the sand dunes where we were exploring. (D was on his dirt bike, and Munchkin and I were in the RZR.)
While we were camping here, Munchkin was able to do a little fishing, but the bugs were really bad by the water. She didn’t stay out too long. She had fun just the same. On our last night there, we made a camp fire and roasted marshmallows.
In addition to the beautiful scenery from the dunes, we saw some amazing sunsets. I’ll post some pictures of those a bit later. Tomorrow, I will start the Zion National Park series of pictures. I’ll be posting a little differently than I did with the Bryce Canyon pictures. I don’t have the pictures nicely organized by stopping points in the park this time, so I’ll just be posting a handful of pictures each day.
LOL! Can you believe that I finally figured out that “Sound Off” was a place to leave a comment…hehe! I have been trying and just couldn’t figure out where I could leave a comment. Today the light bulb went off!!!
Your pictures of your trip have been stunning!
Have a wonderful week, Tamara
