A Doggy Christmas Part 2 #ILoveMyk9 #CBias

Posted in Family

You may remember from A Doggy Christmas Part 1 that we purchase goodies to put together a new pet owner kit.  The original plan was for that kit to be used for a newly adopted dog from the humane society, but as it seems often happens around here, the plan changed.  Munchkin decided that she’d really like the kit to go to the dogs at the stable where she volunteers.  The dogs are healthy and loved, but Munchkin wants to spoil them with some extras that they don’t have like treats, chewies, and toys. We put together a kit that…

It’s no secret that our “puppy” is spoiled. It’s also no secret that he’s no longer a puppy.  In fact, he’s actually 14-years-old.  He has various older dog issues, so we do all we can to make his life enjoyable and a little easier.  That means that on many days I’m carrying our sweetie up and down the stairs.  It also means less sleep at night as he needs to go out more frequently.  As you can see, adopting a dog is a lifetime commitment.  Way back when we first adopted him from the humane society, we honestly didn’t know…

I was really happy to hear that some of you are going to join me and spread some cheer with the Cheerios sendCheer campaign.  We also appreciated your words of support for our family and other military families.  It really warms my heart.  I do want to let you know that some store are selling out of the special boxes extremely quickly (which is a great thing!).  Stores are getting regular shipments in, so if you don’t readily see the specially marked boxes, go ahead and ask if they have them in the back. Well, we headed out to pick…

sendCheer – Remember Our Military Families During the Holidays

Posted in Military Life

As an active duty Marine Corps family, we normally enjoy our military lifestyle, but it’s not easy.  Obviously, one of the most difficult things about life as a military family is the separations and deployments.  Celebrating holidays without your loved ones is difficult – especially if you’re many miles away from your extended family.  You’re already feeling like you have to be both spouses to your child.  Most activities center around families during the holidays, and you’re all too aware that there is a family member missing.  You try to keep both yourself and the kiddos busy, so you don’t…
