Spreading Cheer with sendCheer Cheerios

I was really happy to hear that some of you are going to join me and spread some cheer with the Cheerios sendCheer campaign.  We also appreciated your words of support for our family and other military families.  It really warms my heart.  I do want to let you know that some store are selling out of the special boxes extremely quickly (which is a great thing!).  Stores are getting regular shipments in, so if you don’t readily see the specially marked boxes, go ahead and ask if they have them in the back.

Well, we headed out to pick up our boxes of sendCheer Cheerios, so we could spread some more cheer by giving boxes of Cheerios to others.  While shopping, I was pleased to see that the sendCheer Cheerios campaign boxes come in multiple sizes from small to large, so you can purchase according to your family’s needs.  We loaded up our cart with the sendCheer Cheerios – receiving many interesting looks along the way which gave me the opportunity to spread the word about the specially marked boxes.  Even the cashier wanted to know why I was purchasing so many boxes.  She said she had never really paid attention to the box, so she was glad that we talked.  Now, she’s going to make sure she sends in her postcards.  **grin**

Upon arrival home, we unloaded all of the Cheerios from the truck.  I then took some pictures outside which lead to some crazy looks from our neighbors.  (It was explained what we were doing, and they thought it was really cool.)  Looking at the boxes really does make me smile because I know that we’re going to bless some people not only with the Cheerios, but also with the postcards.

As I stated before, the process for the sendCheer Cheerios postcard is really easy.

  • Purchase the specially marked sendCheer Cheerios boxes
  • Cut out the postcard, write a little message, put a stamp on the postcard, and pop the pre-addressed postcard in the mail
  • The postcard is delivered to the USO who sends them to military families
  • For every postcard the USO receives between now and November 2012, Cheerios will donate $1.
  • Cheerios has already donated $150,000 to the USO to kick off this campaign, and they’ll donate up to an additional $100,000.

We decided that it would be fun to give our purchased boxes of sendCheer Cheerios to young Marines. Not only are we supporting other military families via the Cheerios sendCheer campaign, but we’d also be helping out some young Marines in the process. We’re putting little notes on the boxes, so they know to send in the postcards to “pay it forward” by supporting the campaign.

Make sure you keep your eye out for the special displays at Walmart, so you can jump on in with this wonderful campaign.  It’s an easy way to say thank you to our military families.  I’d love to hear if you’ve seen the Walmart displays in your local stores and/or if you plan on joining in on the sendCheer campaign.

This post has been compensated as part of a sponsored charitable opportunity for Collective Bias, but all opinions, words, and thoughts are my own and based upon our own personal experiences as a military family.
