Today has ended up being a Daddy Daughter Day at our house. I’m in bed with a stomache bug of some sort. Yuck! They started off the day with some leftover pancakes from Daddy’s cooking session yesterday. (He always makes extras, so we can have them during the week.) After breakfast, they have watched The Living Bible: John. It’s basically a verse by verse portrayal of the book of John. They had in previous weeks watched The Living Bible: Acts. They both really enjoy these. Sometimes they follow along in the Bible and sometimes they just watch. John was a…

Well, we had several things that we’ve been putting off doing for one reason or another. 1) Going to the grocery store and taking advantage of being able to get General Mills cereal for only $1.00 a box. (Finished!) 2) Washing the vehicles (Finished!) 3) Daddy & Daughter basketball game (Done!) and 4) Pizza Night! (the pizza was just ordered). It’s been a good, fun, and productive day. This anti-procrastination challenge has been a really great thing for this family these week. It’s kept me motivated which in turn keeps everyone else motivated. Thanks to The Sparrows Nest for calling…
Last night we picked up an old recliner (free). It was completely functional, but it looked yucky. It had holes in the arms; the fabric was torn and very dirty with many different stains. I had limited material, so I had to “fudge” a few things, but I think it turned out well overall. I forgot to take a before picture — duh! But, here…
We had a bit of a roller-coaster day. It was a testing day as a parent, but we know that God has called us to be faithful to Him. We can’t take the easy way out as it will come back to haunt us. We know that it is critical that we are constantly on our guard. Not only do we need to be good examples, but we must also punish in love. We can not let tears keep us from doing the job that God has given to us. We can only pray that in the end we will…
I keep telling myself that I’m going to clean off all the stuff on top of the fridge. I really don’t like having things on top of the fridge, but D didn’t have anywhere else to put all his coffee and drink mixes. So, I decided to re-organize the glass/cup cabinet. Some of the glasses in there weren’t being used as they were things that we got from the Marine Corps Ball. I put those into storage which allowed a whole shelf to be free for all of D’s things. Better yet, the fridge top is now free of stuff!…
