Reading Lists

Posted in Announcements

Last night, D and I were laughing about how different our reading lists were. Could it have something to do with our professions? lol! Hmm… I’m reading about homemaking, organization, homeschooling. He’s reading about combat and past wars. I’d have to say yes. We’re naturally drawn to reading things and learning about things that concern us directly. Have I read things about the war and military? Absolutely, but that isn’t my main focus. Now, one book that is on my list (Flags of Our Fathers) doesn’t exactly fit in with the other books. Whenever a movie is based on a…

Dvd/Cd/Game Storage

Posted in Homemaking

I don’t know about you, but at our house we have a lot of dvds, cds, computer games, and computer software. I was tired of trying to find a place for everything. So, we decided to take all the dvds (divided up according to Mom/Dad movies & family/kids movies) out of the cases and put them in cd storage binders. Next, we took all the music cds out of their cases and put them in cd storage binders. Munchkin has her own cd storage binder for her computer games. I have a case for all my computer related things, and…

Homeschool Happenings…

It made us think about how many times we back down from our own opinions just because everyone else thinks differently. Ultimately, it really doesn’t matter what others think as…

Cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of the flour mixture. Press remaining flour mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 8×8 pan. Spread with desired jam. Sprinkle with reserved flour mixture. Bake at 350 for 30…

Tackle it Tuesday: Baking

Posted in Homemaking

Last night, while munchkin was at gymnastics, D informs me that we don’t have anything for his lunch other than the actual lunch. In other words, he needs some snackage. So, today’s Tackle It Tuesday task is to get a bunch of baking done with my daughter. In the plans are: brownies, cookies, and oatmeal bars. Now, I’ve never made these oatmeal bars, but I keep saying that I’m going to try. Well, today, I’ve decided it’s time to do it. We already have all the stuff that we need, so now, it’s time to just get it done. We’ll…
