Where Are the Pictures???

Posted in Thoughts

I keep saying that I’m going to post pictures, but we’re still searching for the box where the adapter for the camera is located. I can’t download the pictures without the adapter. Grrrr! Hopefully, that box will be located soon. lol! Munchkin even tried her hand at some picture taking and did quite well. Her pictures of the geese and goslings are adorable. The geese learned to trust her, so they allowed her to get very close while taking pictures. There were two different “families” as well as various other geese and ducks at the campground. We even had a…

I was able to get a lot of reading in while we were camping which was such a blessing as I love to read. I really enjoyed reading A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George. There were a lot of practical tips on how to truly become a woman after God’s own heart. One thing that I personally took away was making sure that your husband is #1 in the relationship (after God). All too often it is easy to allow the kids (or other things) to take first place in our lives. It was a good reminder…

Free Mini Unit on Insects

Posted in Homeschooling

Sam’s Science Adventure is offering a free mini unit on insects in their newsletter. They allow you to pass this along to anyone, so I’m posting it here. They have a lot of great kits for homeschoolers or parents who love to help their kids learn. If you haven’t checked them out before, I highly recommend their site. While you’re there, sign up for their newsletter as they always include a free mini unit with each newsletter.

We picked 3 very full buckets of strawberries. We enjoyed just eating them fresh and with some whipped cream. D enjoyed them on his cereal. But, I wanted to make some strawberry freezer jam like my mom use to make us growing up. So, I spent a good part of the day hulling and cutting up the strawberries. D was amazed at how…

Thankful Thursday: This and That

Posted in Family

It’s been so long since I’ve been part of this, and I’ve truly missed it. This week will probably be long. lol! 1. I’m thankful that we’re finally at our new home. We’re slowly, but surely getting everything unpacked. It may be a while before we’re truly settled in, but it’s wonderful to be here. 2. I’m thankful that our garden is doing wonderfully. We have lots of lettuce. The tomatoes (while still green) are doing well. The peppers are blooming. We have lots of herbs. The onions are almost ready. The cucumbers are growing. We’ll be adding more as…
