All I can say about the opening ceremonies last night is WOW! At first, when I brought up watching the opening ceremonies, Munchkin wasn’t at all interested. Then, I turned it on. She couldn’t take her eyes off the screen as beautiful, awe inspiring images passed before her. I allowed her to stay up way too late, but it was so worth it. Unfortunately, Munchkin woke up sick this morning. I’m sure it has something to do with getting up early all week for VBS, being around lots of kids all week, and staying up very late last night. Our Week at a Glance

Munchkin decided at the last minute that she’d go to Vacation Bible School (VBS) this week (as in 10-15 minutes before we needed to leave the house). The church is doing Son Harvest. She really enjoyed that today, and she’s looking forward to the rest of the week. They’re having a coloring contest, so she worked on coloring that this evening. This week in school, we’ll be studying Jesus’ parables. We’re using free handouts from Calvary’s Chapel to supplement our Bible readings. We’ll be starting a new unit and lapbook about plants. Munchkin will continue with her normal math studies.…

Book Sale Finds

Today, Munchkin and I headed over to our local library’s monthly book sale. We’ve never gone before, and boy, were we missing out!!! We walked over to the checkout with this HUGE stack of books. We walked away only spending $14. Wow! One very nice book is missing from the picture as I’m going to be using it as a gift for someone. All of the books are in excellent condition. Plus, we picked up several outdoor magazines for free (not pictured) that we’ll be using for their pictures. Needless to say, I do believe that we’ll be heading back…
