Our Week at a Glance

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

Munchkin decided at the last minute that she’d go to Vacation Bible School (VBS) this week (as in 10-15 minutes before we needed to leave the house). The church is doing Son Harvest. She really enjoyed that today, and she’s looking forward to the rest of the week. They’re having a coloring contest, so she worked on coloring that this evening.

This week in school, we’ll be studying Jesus’ parables. We’re using free handouts from Calvary’s Chapel to supplement our Bible readings. We’ll be starting a new unit and lapbook about plants. Munchkin will continue with her normal math studies. Since she’s going to VBS, we’re keeping things pretty basic.

As time permits, we’ll be continuing with our science experiments. Things didn’t go as smoothly as planned on Friday (our experiment day), so we’ll be spreading out the experiments a bit. We decided that God just had other things in mind for that day. We ended up getting lots of exercise instead. **grin**

Friday, the Olympics start. We’ll be watching the Olympics and working on our lapbook to go with that. We’ll also be holding our own little Wii Olympics.
