The Beauty of Texas

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Thoughts

We were told that driving across Texas would be boring and that the scenery is all the same. We’ve been amazed at the beauty that we’ve seen as we drive across this HUGE state. We haven’t been bored in the least. (Well, at least, we haven’t been bored with the scenery. We are quite tired of driving.) I wish I could have taken pictures as we were driving along as there were so many amazing things to see. Tonight, we’re staying in Van Horn, TX. The mountains are beautiful. There is some green, but not much shade. We’ve seen quite…

Half Baked

Whew!! The temperatures and humidity are rising as we head across the southern part of our country. While I write, Munchkin and D are in the pool trying to cool off a bit. On Monday, we finished traveling across Georgia, traveled across Alabama, and stayed in Mississippi. We found out that it’s hard to find a place to camp in Mississippi due to a pipeline being put in. We did find a nice, quiet campground that had a pool. Munchkin apparently is being thrown off by the time changes and all of the travel as she decided to get up…

Moving Along

Posted in Military Life, and Thoughts

We’ve had two good days of traveling so far. We’ve traveled through Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and now we’re in Georgia. The weather has been good for driving. Munchkin has gone decided to ride some with Mommy and then some with Daddy. I’m taking pictures along the way, but I’m unable to upload them at this time. The campgrounds that we’ve stopped at thus far have been really nice. Our current campground could easily be a nice long stay due to the beauty of the area and activities available. But, we really must keep moving along. Thank you for…

It’s Empty…

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Thoughts

The house is empty except for the fridge and pantry. Echoes fill the air as we walk and talk. The walls look empty without the pictures. It’s no longer a home; it is just a house. It’s weird getting ready to leave a house that we still own… We still have a little time before we start our cross country adventure. We continue to pray for our miracle of selling our house quickly. Our travel trailer is now our home. We’ll be working on getting it organized before we head out on the road. It’s going to be interesting living…

Busy, Busy, Busy…

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Thoughts

Life has started to get busy now that the new year has begun. We found out in December that we wouldn’t be staying here like we originally thought. It looked like we were headed to California. Hmmm…. Since I was still recovering from surgery, my mind started to make to do lists like crazy. I’m finally off of restriction although I still need to be cautious not to over do things. Is that possible with an upcoming move? Thankfully, we do have a few months before the cross country trek. One problem is that we never fully moved into this…
