Half Baked

Posted in Military Life, and Thoughts

Whew!! The temperatures and humidity are rising as we head across the southern part of our country. While I write, Munchkin and D are in the pool trying to cool off a bit.

On Monday, we finished traveling across Georgia, traveled across Alabama, and stayed in Mississippi. We found out that it’s hard to find a place to camp in Mississippi due to a pipeline being put in. We did find a nice, quiet campground that had a pool.

Munchkin apparently is being thrown off by the time changes and all of the travel as she decided to get up at 1:45 this morning!! I sent her off to watch a movie or two while I slept longer. I got up around 6:15 as our “puppy” was ready to go out for his morning walk/bathroom break. (He’s use to going out around 7:15, so this was right on schedule when the time change is taken into consideration.)

Today, we traveled the rest of the way through Mississippi, and we’re staying in Louisiana. It’s a nice campground, but there isn’t very much shade. Plus, it’s downright toasty and humid. I guess we better get use to the toasty part. lol!

So, we’re half way through our trip and half baked with the heat. We’re tired of driving, but grateful that we’re able to take our time. Lord willing, we’ll arrive in Arizona early in the afternoon on Saturday. We’ve been told that we have a house waiting for us on base. Praise the Lord! We just need to accept the house when we arrive. Hopefully, all will be well with the house, and we’ll have a new place to call home in the near future.

Pictures will be posted eventually. Right now, I can’t get anything to load. We’re continuing to take pictures at each state’s welcome center as a fun way to remember our trip. Once again, thank you for the prayers as we travel.
