Apiary Field Trip

Today, we headed out on a field trip with our homeschooling group to a local apiary. We had a lot of fun as the kids (and adults) learned more about bees, honey, and beeswax. I came home with 4 pints of fresh honey, some beeswax candles, and a honey cookbook. I couldn’t pass up the great deal on yummy local honey and candles. Earthquake Lapbook

On Friday, Munchkin completed the earthquake unit. We used the earthquake lapbook from Hands of a Child. She enjoyed learning about the different aspects of earthquakes. We were able to watch a few shows on Discovery/National Geographic Channel to go along with this unit. National Geographic’s website has some great interactive features on earthquakes (as well as tornadoes, hurricanes, and volcanoes) including being able to set off an earthquake.

BFS Wacky Week

This is WACKY WEEK here at Blogger Friend School! Everything is wacky fun! This week YOU, the student, get to share something of your choice that is little “Wacky”!!!
