1st Soccer Game of the Season

Munchkin had a blast at her first soccer game of the season. She ended up only playing the 1st and 4th quarters due to feeling under the weather, but she still enjoyed watching her team. Today, she played center forward. Here are a few pictures from the game.
Our Weather Lapbook

On Tuesday, we completed our study on the weather. We used the Hands of a Child Weather lapbook. We’ve had lots of crazy weather lately, so it was interesting to see how it all tied in. There were even several specials on tv that covered extreme weather. Unfortunately, Munchkin was unable to draw the clouds for the project. She’ll have to do that at a later time since it was actually too cloudy or rainy for her to capture good clouds to draw.
Rain and Rising Water

We have rain steadily falling and the water behind our house is slowly rising. We’ve never seen it so high, so we’ve been watching it. Munchkin thought Daddy might like to see some pictures. This is the view we now have from the backyard. Usually, the water is much lower. In fact, during low tide, it is often just mud. On a normal day, when we look down like this, there is a pathway leading down to the water. In addition, there is some very tall grass at the water’s edge. There is usually a nice island in this view.…
