Make It From Scratch: Planter Boxes

As I stated in my Frugal Friday post, I decided to use the wood that I had removed from the closets while working on updating the closets to make planter boxes. This year, we decided that we wanted to try to use the square foot gardening method. Now, my boxes aren’t truly square foot boxes as I used “scrap” lumber to make them. I also haven’t put the dividers in yet to make them a real square foot garden, but they are basically divided up into square foot sections. Here is the finished product. Setting a Good Example

Today,when I woke up, I had to decide what type of mood I would be in. Honestly, I didn’t feel like being chipper. I woke up missing D even though he hasn’t been gone long yet. I was a bit grumpy because I had a stiff neck from sleeping on the inflatable mattress. The dog woke up at 5:00 am wanting to go outside. The guinea pigs started squeaking for food at 6:00 am. Thankful Thursday: Thoughts

This week, as I start to write this post, I find it difficult to really get into the thankful spirit. Yet, I know that being thankful is not an emotion, but a decision that I must make. Read to Me: Results

The Read to Me has come to a close. We were asked to summarize our results in a post. We accomplished out goal of getting back on track with reading. This mission/contest helped motivate us to get started with our reading again. It’s so easy to allow life to get in the way of reading and let the t.v. take control. Happy St Patrick’s Day

Top of the Mornin‘ to You! I hope everyone has a lovely St. Patrick’s Day.D finally arrived home late last night. He had a delayed flight (due to weather, I believe) and then they completely destroyed his suitcase. He wanted to get home, but being the sweetie that he is, he helped another person get their dead car out of their parking space and jumpstart it.We’re glad to have him home even if it is just for a long weekend.
